Job summary

LA International is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer (SC Cleared) to design, implement and operate secure, scalable cloud platforms in UK delivery environments. You will lead infrastructure as code with Terraform across AWS or equivalent, ensure high availability and governance, and mentor engineers in secure DevOps practices.

Candidates should have hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/Jenkins).

Qualifications

• Experience in IaC with Terraform or equivalent and automated provisioning.
• Strong experience with AWS services or equivalent and governance.
• Proficiency with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.
• Advanced knowledge of GitLab, Jenkins, or similar CI/CD tools.
• Deep understanding of secure DevOps principles and cloud security.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and design resilient systems.

Key Outcomes & Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Operations

Architect and manage cloud environments (AWS or equivalent) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform. Ensure high availability, scalability, and resilience of platforms.

Essential Skills (Must Have)

• Infrastructure as Code: Expertise in Terraform or equivalent and automated provisioning.
• Cloud Platforms: Strong experience with AWS services or equivalent and governance.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Proficiency in Kubernetes and Docker.
• CI/CD Expertise: Advanced knowledge of GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools.
• Security Practices: Deep understanding of secure DevOps principles and cloud security.
• Problem-Solving & Reliability Engineering: Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and design resilient systems.

Experience Profile

• Significant experience in DevOps roles with proven delivery of cloud-native solutions.
• Hands‑on leadership in designing and operating secure, scalable platforms.
• Track record of mentoring and coaching engineers.
• Experience in hybrid UK-based delivery environments.

Desirable Skills (Nice to Have)

• Scripting & Automation: Strong skills in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Networking & Performance Tuning: Knowledge of cloud networking and optimization.
• Agile Delivery: Experience in agile, product‑led environments.
• Observability Tools: Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar.
