Job summary

Forward Role is recruiting an AWS DevOps Engineer (eDV) for national security programmes in the UK. The role focuses on building secure cloud platforms, automating infrastructure, and advancing toward senior Platform or Cloud responsibilities.

You will work with modern tooling across live national security programmes, driving ownership and reliability. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Linux, CI/CD, and scripting in Python or Bash.

Qualifications

• Active eDV clearance is required.
• Solid fundamentals in AWS and Terraform.
• Experience with secure cloud environments preferred.
• Mid-level SFIA 4-level equivalent.

Location: Key National Security hubs

Salary: £60,000–£80,000+ depending on experience

Clearance: Active eDV required

Level: Mid-level / SFIA 4-ish

I’m supporting an engineering-led National Security team looking for a mid-level DevOps Engineer who wants to move beyond support-heavy work and take on more ownership across secure cloud environments.

This is a good fit for someone who’s already comfortable with modern DevOps tooling, but still wants room to broaden their capability, learn from strong engineers and progress towards more senior Platform or Cloud responsibilities.
