Job summary

A cutting-edge fintech company in London is looking for a skilled DevOps professional to refine their infrastructure and enhance security. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of DevOps experience, strong AWS knowledge, and a good understanding of infrastructure as code principles. You'll work on optimizing cloud costs and implementing application observability solutions, while collaborating onsite three days a week.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture principles.
  • Deep understanding of AWS services and architecture.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Strong knowledge of AWS security best practices.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Datadog).
  • Familiarity with serverless architecture (AWS Lambda).
  • Linux admin skills and basic shell scripting.
  • Ability to work 3 days a week onsite in London.

  • Refine infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Introduce a culture of infrastructure as code.
  • Enhance existing security stance as necessary.
  • Work with the team on application-level observability solutions.
  • Optimize infrastructure to reduce AWS costs.

Responsibilities
  • Refine our infrastructure as code (Terraform) and associated CI/CD pipelines. Support developers in making changes going forward.
  • Play a key role in introducing a culture of infrastructure as code and enforce through appropriate tooling.
  • Critically review and where necessary enhancing our existing security stance.
  • Work with the development team to introduce application-level observability solutions (e.g. CloudWatch, Datadog)
  • Optimise infrastructure to reduce our AWS costs
  • Ensure smooth running of handful of EC2 instances

Key Technologies:AWS (Lambda/Serverless), zappa, RDS, EC2, S3, Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, zappa.

  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-native architecture principles
  • Deep understanding of AWS services and architecture
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, pulumi)
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices in AWS cloud environments
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Datadog)
  • Experience with serverless architecture and services (e.g., AWS Lambda)
  • Linux admin and basic shell scripting
  • Ability to work 3 days a week onsite in our London office
