Sompo Holdings, Inc. (SompoRe Claims) is seeking an AVP, Claims Operations Analyst - Reinsurance based in London.

The role combines complex reinsurance claims handling with governance, controls and data-driven performance management across outsourced services. You will develop MI, dashboards and KPI reporting, monitor service levels, and drive continuous improvement in claims operations while coordinating with Finance, Risk and Compliance teams to ensure audit readiness and strong documentation

Qualifications

• Significant claims experience in insurance or reinsurance.
• Experience with complex non-proportional reinsurance claims (Marine/Energy, Trade Credit, Aviation, Engineering).
• Experience in claims operations, governance, and MI reporting.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken.
• Advanced Excel; knowledge of Power BI/SQL is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee workflows, procedures, service standards, and documentation for Global Reinsurance Claims.
• Support governance by monitoring controls, audits, and remediation tracking.
• Oversee third-party providers: SLAs, KPIs, reporting, data quality and governance.
• Develop MI, dashboards and KPI reporting for claims operations and vendor performance.
• Identify process gaps and operational risks; propose practical improvements.

The role combines claims operations responsibilities with control and governance oversight, performance monitoring of outsourced claims services, and development of management information and analytical insight to support operational excellence across the claims portfolio.**Location:** This position can be based out of our **London** office. We strive for collaboration which is why we offer a work environmentwhere our employees thrive and develop long lasting careers. **Our business, your impact, our opportunity:** **What you’ll be doing:*** Support claims operations by overseeing workflows, procedures, service standards, documentation, and process effectiveness across the Global Reinsurance Claims function.* Strengthen controls and governance by monitoring key controls, supporting SOX and non-SOX activities, coordinating reviews, tracking issues, and assisting with audit and assurance activity.* Oversee third-party providers by monitoring service levels, KPIs, reporting, data quality, issues, actions, and vendor governance routines.* Develop reporting and analytics by producing MI, dashboards, KPI reporting, and data-led insights on claims operations, controls, vendor performance, and service delivery.* Drive continuous improvement by identifying process gaps, control weaknesses, reporting issues, and operational risks, and supporting practical, sustainable solutions.* Support compliance and collaboration by working with Claims, Finance, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Data, and Technology teams while promoting audit readiness, accountability, and strong documentation standards. **What you’ll bring:*** Significant relevant claims experience, ideally gained in insurance or reinsurance claims handling, with demonstrable experience in complex reinsurance claims.* Strong experience in Specialty reinsurance claims handling, particularly in non-proportional claims across one or more of the following lines of business: Marine & Energy, Trade Credit & Surety, Aviation, and Engineering.* Relevant experience in claims operations, claims governance, claims controls, management information, operational reporting, or a similar function within insurance or reinsurance.* Good understanding of claims processes, operational controls, governance requirements, and compliance considerations in a regulated environment.* Experience supporting control reviews, audit activity, remediation tracking, governance reporting, or related oversight activities.* Experience reviewing operational data, service metrics, and management information, with the ability to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.* Experience working with third-party providers, outsourced services, or vendor performance oversight would be advantageous.* Strong analytical capability and sound judgment in assessing operational issues, performance data, and control-related information.* Ability to interpret and present data clearly and translate findings into practical insights and recommendations.* Strong written and spoken English skills are essential.* Strong digital literacy and confidence using business software and reporting tools; advanced Excel skills are expected, and experience with Power BI, SQL, or similar tools would be advantageous.* Good practical knowledge of governance, audit, and regulatory requirements relevant to claims operations would be beneficial.* Relevant professional qualifications, or progress towards them, would be advantageous but are not essential.* Reinsurance experience would be beneficial.
