Job summary

ALTEN is a global engineering and technology consultancy. We are seeking an Avionics Systems Verification & Validation Engineer to develop, certify, and verify electric aviation platforms across system, subsystem, and component levels.

You'll work in a certification-focused environment with cross-functional teams to deliver compliant solutions on ambitious projects. Location is Derby with on-site emphasis and potential remote work; Senior level requires 10+ years' experience on Part 23/27

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience on Part 23 or 27 aircraft or rotorcraft programs.
• Strong working knowledge of ARP4754A/ARP4761, FAA orders and RTCA DO standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and validate aircraft, system and component-level requirements with bidirectional traceability.
• Apply ARP4754A/ARP4761 processes for safety assessments and certification planning under Part 23/27/33.
• Author, execute, and maintain verification plans, procedures, and test reports for lab, integration, and system-level tests.
• Perform system behavior modeling and support test automation and data analysis to meet certification schedules.
