Job summary

Mane is offering an exciting contracting role for an Avionic Technician to support Chinook helicopter maintenance at RAF Odiham. You will perform scheduled and unscheduled avionics work under Military QR640 and Boeing Part 145 authorisations, ensuring safety and quality rules are followed.

The position is a long-term contract with regular overtime and a retention bonus. Applicants must have rotary-wing Avionic experience, be able to obtain 1st Signature on rotary aircraft, and hold or transfer

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Avionic Technician in a rotary-wing environment.
• Hold or be able to obtain 1st Signature on rotary aircraft.
• Know how MMO and AMO aviation requirements apply in maintenance.
• Experience inspecting, replacing and testing aircraft systems and components.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong maintenance documentation knowledge and procedures.
• Current SC or ability to transfer SC from day one.

Responsibilities

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Avionic Technician to join a leading aerospace and defence programme supporting the maintenance of Chinook helicopters at RAF Odiham. This is a long-term contract offering excellent rates of pay and the opportunity to work on one of the UK's most critical rotary-wing platforms.

The Role

As an Avionic Technician, you will carry out scheduled and unscheduled avionic maintenance on Chinook helicopters undergoing Primary and Primary Star maintenance. Working within a highly skilled team, you will operate under both Military (QR640) and Boeing Part 145 authorisation schemes, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out avionic maintenance on Chinook helicopters.
• Inspect, remove, replace and functionally test aircraft electrical and avionic systems.
• Diagnose faults and perform rectification activities.
• Complete maintenance documentation in accordance with military and Boeing procedures.
• Work in compliance with QR640 and Part 145 maintenance regulations.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
• Support the wider maintenance team to achieve programme objectives.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience as an Avionic Technician within a rotary-wing environment.
• Held, or able to obtain, 1st Signature responsibilities on rotary aircraft.
• Working knowledge of both Military Maintenance Organisation (MMO) and Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) aviation requirements.
• Experience carrying out inspection, replacement and operational testing of aircraft systems and components.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong understanding of aircraft maintenance documentation and procedures.
• Current Security Clearance (SC) or the ability to transfer an existing SC, required from day one.

• £38.00 per hour.
• Additional £3.00 per hour retention bonus after six months.
• Initial 12-month contract with potential for extension.
