The successful candidate will lead a team, ensuring all maintenance is completed to schedule, and demonstrate expertise in Typhoon systems. A strong background in aeronautical engineering is required, along with extensive maintenance documentation knowledge. This role offers a 4-day work week with a nightshift pattern.

Qualifications

Typhoon Avionic Supervisor, 12 months rolling, RAF Coningsby

Morson Talent are recruiting for an experienced Avionics Supervisor to work for our prestigious client based at RAF Coningsby.

The post holder will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities on an aircraft or aircraft component, demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostic techniques. Responsible for maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorization on an aircraft or aircraft component. Responsible for tasking of work and supervision of personnel/people management. Responsible for meeting agreed delivery targets at a tactical level. Demonstrates people management and leadership skills. Demonstrates awareness of broader external dependencies and identifies areas for continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection, and supervision activities on an aircraft or aircraft components.
  • Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the SOW/Work package using the relevant approved technical information.
  • Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including configuration management.
  • Supervising a team to ensure that maintenance is undertaken to schedule and highlighting any issues, escalating as required.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience as a leader at this level, with broad and in-depth product knowledge, expert competence within own technical/subject area, and an understanding of the relationship with interfacing/contributory areas.
  • Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship/qualifications.
  • Academic qualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
  • Typhoon Q and Typhoon Maintenance experience is essential.
  • Intensive knowledge of Depth Maintenance documentation (ESS/IMS and associated toolsets) is essential.

Working hours: 4 days a week, Monday to Thursday, with a nightshift pattern. Hours required to work per week are 37.00 unless otherwise stated.
