Typhoon Avionic Supervisor

Morson Talent are recruiting for an experienced Avionics Supervisor to work for our prestigious client based at RAF Coningsby.
Responsibilities
- Undertake detailed maintenance and supervision activities on an aircraft or aircraft components, ensuring work is completed in accordance with the SOW / Work package using the relevant approved technical information.
- Derive diagnostic techniques and maintain airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation.
- Task and supervise work, manage people and ensure delivery targets are met at a tactical level.
- Demonstrate leadership and people management skills; identify areas for continuous improvement and coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for delegated privileges where appropriate.
- Perform aircraft ground handling, flight services, aircraft role changes, AD embodiments, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system tests as required.
- Supervise a team to ensure maintenance is undertaken to schedule; escalate issues as needed and report any impact to the wider programme.
- Ensure staff are competent and approved for allocated maintenance tasks; maintain personal & team task authorisation for working on aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements.
- Provide support tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facility to maintain compliance with MOE and Functionally Mandated Procedures (FMPs).
- Provide guidance and leadership to the team; develop team members through formal assessments (e.g., PDRs) and support on-the-job training requests.
- Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for found faults during maintenance.
Qualifications / Essential & Desirable Skills
- Experienced and competent leader with broad and in-depth product knowledge; understanding of relationships with interfacing/contributory areas; ensure compliance with risk assessments and SHE policies.
- If approved as a designated assessor, undertake OJT activities, qualified by an OJT Training and Assessor course or acceptable equivalent (PROQ30718).
- Qualifications: Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship (ideally Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent). Minimum City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
- Aircraft platform training (On a/c requirement) and Typhoon Q and Typhoon Maintenance experience are essential.
- Intensive knowledge of Depth Maintenance documentation (ESS/IMS and related toolsets); knowledge of quality procedures, processes and specifications. Experience with Approved Maintenance Organisation (MAOS MIL Pt145).
- Knowledge of Resolve and raising System Enquiries is essential.
Additional Information
WORKING HOURS – ON BASE
- 4 days per week Mon-Thu
- Nightshift pattern Days: 07:30 to 16:00, Nights: 16:00 to 02:00
- Hours per week: 37.00 (excluding lunch breaks); start/finish times to be agreed with local Line Management.
- Lunch break: 30 minutes between 12:30 – 1:00pm (or as agreed). 30 mins will be deducted daily by the time management system.
- Depending on workload, management may request more or fewer hours.
- This position involves shift work.
