Qualifications

  • Experience in aviation engineering or safety.
  • Knowledge of CAA / MAA regulations.
  • Understanding of Safety Management System (SMS) / Quality Management System (QMS).

Aviation Safety Officer (or Assistant Aviation Safety Officer)

Location: Oxford

Type: Permanent

A great opportunity to join a leading aviation organisation, taking responsibility for the ongoing development and management of the Safety Management System (SMS) and its links with Quality and Compliance. This role is ideal for someone passionate about aviation safety, investigations, and driving a strong safety culture.

We are also open to applicants with less experience for an Assistant-level pathway, with full training and development provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and analyse safety reports, identifying trends and risks
  • Lead safety investigations (including MEDA and operational occurrences)
  • Maintain and update safety procedures and documentation
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies (CAA / MAA)
  • Support and deliver safety promotion initiatives
  • Contribute to safety-related projects
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in aviation engineering or safety
  • Knowledge of CAA / MAA regulations
  • Understanding of SMS / QMS
  • Strong communication, analysis, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and across teamsli>
Qualifications
  • HNC or equivalent in a relevant field, or industry experience
  • Safety training or investigation qualifications (desirable)
Additional Requirements
  • Eligible for DBS / BPSS / SC clearance
  • Valid passport and driving licence
  • Right to work in the UK
