Job summary

Chevron Recruitment in Manchester is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join their workshop team. You will program and operate CNC machinery to produce high-precision components in an aviation engineering environment.

This role requires strong G-code/NC programming and CAD/CAM experience, plus the ability to read drawings and ensure quality. The company offers pension, private healthcare, life insurance, and ongoing development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Advanced Engineering or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code and NC programming
• Experience with both conventional and CNC machining
• Ability to read engineering drawings and CNC programmes
• Familiarity with Fanuc/Siemens/Hurco control systems

Responsibilities

• Operate and program CNC machinery to manufacture components to required specifications
• Use CAD/CAM software to support CNC machining and programming activities
• Programming and editing using G-code, M-code and NC programming
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, technical information and CNC programmes
• Setting up machines, tooling and workpieces for machining operations
• Carrying out conventional and CNC machining activities
• Troubleshooting machining, programming and equipment issues
• Ensuring manufactured components meet required quality and dimensional standards
• Working in accordance with health, safety and engineering procedures
• Supporting continuous improvement within the workshop and machining environment
