Freelance AV Video Technician

Location: Various venues (auditoriums & meeting rooms across the UK)

Rate: £240 - £280 per 10‑hour day

Contract: Freelance / Ad hoc

We're expanding our network of AV Video Technicians to support a variety of corporate events, conferences, and live productions. You'll be responsible for ensuring flawless video playback, projection, and screen management across a range of event formats and client setups.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and de‑rig video and display systems for live corporate events
  • Manage video switchers, presentation laptops, and playback devices
  • Operate projection, LED walls, and screen systems in auditoriums and meeting rooms
  • Work with clients, producers, and show callers to ensure smooth presentation delivery
  • Troubleshoot connectivity or signal issues quickly and calmly
  • Maintain tidy, professional, and efficient setups on‑site
Requirements
  • Proven experience as an AV or Video Technician in corporate or live event environments
  • Strong understanding of video signal flow, resolutions, and aspect ratios
  • Experience with hardware such as Barco, Analog Way, Blackmagic, or similar
  • Confident with PowerPoint, Keynote, and video playback software (e.g. PlaybackPro, Resolume)
  • Professional appearance, excellent communication, and strong problem‑solving skills
  • Own transport and basic toolkit desirable
