AUDIO VISUAL PROJECT MANAGER

£30,000 to £50,000 PER ANNUM

About the Client

The client is a well-respected Event Production and Audio-Visual hire business with a solid reputation built over decades in the industry. They specialise in delivering high-end solutions across live events, installations and film production. Their offering ranges from AV equipment hire to full event and installation services, including creative design, technical delivery and live filming / streaming.

Role Overview

As an Audio-Visual Project Manager, you will be a key point of contact and technical lead for client projects. You will steer projects from concept through to execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards. You'll combine strong technical know-how, leadership skills, and client-facing ability to deliver seamless events, installations and film production initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as lead technical project manager on live events, AV installations, and film / video productions
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and translate it into creative, practical technical solutions
  • Develop event / installation design proposals, including technical drawings, schematics and visuals
  • Plan, schedule and manage all crew, resources and subcontractors; produce crew briefs, call sheets, run-sheets and site documentation
  • Supervise rigging, installation, audio, lighting, video, and AV systems operations on site
  • Troubleshoot technical issues live and adapt under pressure
  • Manage project budgets and procurement, tracking costs and seeking cost efficiencies
  • Maintain and deepen client relationships, being proactive in business development and repeat work
  • Ensure health & safety compliance, risk assessments, and quality control throughout project lifecycle
  • Be flexible with schedule - travel and overnight stays required for events and site installations
  • Mentor junior staff and foster growth in team technical capability
Who We're Looking For
  • Solid background in live events / AV / technical project management
  • Broad technical understanding (audio, video, lighting, rigging, systems integration)
  • Hands-on experience rigging / de-rigging / operation of AV equipment
  • Excellent communication skills - able to explain technical solutions clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong leadership & organisational skills; able to lead by example on site
  • Commercial awareness and a client-first mindset
  • Resilient, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and manage several projects concurrently
  • Full UK driving license (required)
  • Willingness to travel and be away from home as required

Work Pattern & Expectations

Typically, around 40 hours per week, but flexibility is essential. Overtime often available, especially during event phases. Regular travel to event sites or client installations - sometimes requiring overnight stays. Predominantly in-person role (not remote).
