Job summary

STARK is seeking a Systems Engineer to shape reliability and performance for next-generation autonomous platforms. You will manage cross-functional integration, lead hazard analyses, and validate system integrity through rigorous testing and compliance reporting.

The role involves coordinating with mechanical, electrical, and software teams, applying a safety-by-design approach, and ensuring end-to-end traceability using IBM DOORS. Travel for field testing across the UK and Europe is expected.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering discipline (Systems/Aerospace/Electrical/Mechatronics).
  • Experience with safety-critical autonomous systems.
  • Knowledge of the Systems Engineering V-model.
  • Willingness to travel across UK/Europe.
  • Security clearance or eligibility.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical coherency of autonomous products from concept to delivery, ensuring subsystem alignment.
  • Collaborate daily with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to translate requirements into design.
  • Lead Preliminary Hazard Analyses (PHA) and System/Subsystem Hazard Assessments (SHA/SSHA) to identify and mitigate risks early.
  • Drive FMEA and DFMEA activities to improve system resilience and reduce single points of failure.
  • Define and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and system architecture layouts.
  • Maintain requirements baselines and end-to-end traceability using IBM DOORS.
  • Conduct impact assessments for design changes to safeguard safety and performance.
  • Participate in fast development sprints and field test campaigns with strict configuration control.
