Job summary

A healthcare organization in Manchester is looking for a Special Needs School Nurse to support children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in schools and communities. This full-time role requires a Registered Sick Children's Nurse, offering between £38,682 to £46,580 annually. The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload, assess and deliver care, and provide training for staff. A valid NMC registration and driving license are essential.

Qualifications

• Registered Sick Children's Nurse and/or Learning Disability Nurse.
• Substantial experience working with children and young people with SEND.
• Preparation for mentorship.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of children with complex health needs.
• Assess, plan, and deliver care in SEND schools.
• Provide training for school staff on health for children with SEND.

Skills

Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate health needs

Effective communication and interpersonal skills

IT literate

Knowledge of SEND and health responsibilities

Ability to work autonomously

Experience in safeguarding children

Able to deliver therapeutic interventions

Ability to negotiate across agencies

Education

Registered Sick Children's Nurse (RN Child)

Substantial post-registration experience
