Job summary

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board seeks a salaried GP to manage a patient list and provide clinical and administrative care in a primary care setting. The post involves 6 sessions per week with duty rosters and routine administrative time built into the day to ensure safe patient care.

You will make autonomous clinical decisions, assess undifferentiated patients, screen for risk factors, develop care plans, provide counselling, and handle prescriptions and reports as required.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate GP qualification and registration.
• Experience in primary care settings preferred.
• Ability to work autonomously within a GP practice.

Responsibilities

• Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions for presenting problems.
• Assess health care needs of undifferentiated patients.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Develop care plans in consultation with patients.
• Provide counselling and health education.
• Record clear consultation notes to standards.
• Compile and issue computer-generated prescriptions.
• Prescribe within the practice formulary where appropriate.
• Contribute to Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) and local initiatives.
• Complete medical reports as required.
