Job summary

Oxford Health is seeking an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join the Abingdon EMU team to develop and deliver Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) services in the community and hospital settings. You will work autonomously within an MDT, assess patient needs, and plan evidence-based programmes of care aimed at preventing hospital admission.

The role includes managing your own caseload, supervising junior staff, and contributing to discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Current HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Experience of working in NHS as a registered occupational therapist.
• Experience of managing own caseload and discharge planning.
• Willingness to travel between sites within the Trust.

Responsibilities

• Work autonomously as an Occupational Therapist as part of an MDT to provide holistic SDEC care to unwell patients.
• Prioritise, assess, plan and implement patient-specific programmes of care, analysing patient needs and making judgements about best practice.
• Provide leadership for junior/non-registered staff through supervision and appraisal, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
• Manage own caseload.
