Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Community Occupational Therapist to join the Therapy team in South Cumbria, Kendal. You will work in the community to provide rehabilitation, assess needs, and support discharge planning in patients’ homes and care settings.

The role requires HCPC registration, a relevant OT degree, and driving licence. You will join a multi-disciplinary team and may travel across south Cumbria to meet service needs, with a 5-day service

Qualifications

• HCPC registered OT.
• Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy approved by the RCOT, UK.
• Postgraduate training or experience to postgraduate diploma level or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence or ability to travel.
• Experience of research or audit.
• Membership of the British Association of Occupational Therapists.
• Positive risk taking training/experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic assessment, diagnosis and treatment as an autonomous practitioner.
• Regularly assist in planning and delivering team training and education sessions.
• Travel across south Cumbria to support service needs and work across boundaries.
• Support discharge to assess, intermediate care and rehabilitation in patients' homes or care settings.
