Job summary

Global Payments Inc. is hiring a Software Engineer for Agentic Commerce in the UK. You will design and build secure checkout APIs for AI agents, integrate agentic payment capabilities, and deliver merchant-facing APIs and SDKs with strong documentation.

You’ll collaborate with product managers and engineers to define technical requirements, improve developer experience and drive API governance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Designing, developing, debugging and enhancing scalable software applications and APIs.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end software development life cycles and engineering standards.
• Proficiency in solutions design and systems architecture.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and API development/integration patterns.
• Familiarity with payments/fintech technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and build secure checkout APIs for AI agents to invoke reliably and deterministically.
• Integrate agentic payment capabilities across Global Payments platforms.
• Architect and deliver merchant-facing APIs and SDKs with clear contracts and docs.
• Improve developer experience by enhancing discoverability and reducing time-to-first-transaction.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects and engineering to define requirements and governance.
