Job summary

Rubicon Recruitment Agency is seeking a Machine Shop Team Leader in Poole, Dorset, England to own and optimise a shift team in a busy machine shop. You will drive daily, weekly and monthly production targets with a hands-on technical approach and clear decision-making authority.

You will lead lean improvements, manage people performance, perform root cause analyses and uphold health and safety standards across the shift, delivering quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership in a CNC machining or manufacturing environment.
• Experience managing people and driving performance under pressure.
• Strong stakeholder communication and reporting skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and production systems.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate shift teams to hit daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
• Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement across the machine shop.
• Manage people performance, including appraisals, probation reviews, and capability.
• Lead root cause analysis to resolve quality and performance issues.
• Maintain health, safety, and wellbeing standards across the shift.
• Support technical problem-solving on complex machining challenges.
