Job summary

Hereford County Hospital, part of Wye Valley NHS Trust, is seeking a Clinical Research Nurse to coordinate academic and commercial trials, screen and recruit patients, and monitor participants in line with protocols. You will work with a high level of autonomy and promote research across the Trust.

The role requires NMC registration, ICH-GCP training and ongoing professional development, with a typical NHS Band 5 salary and a Monday–Friday work pattern with some flexibility.

Qualifications

• ICH-GCP training
• Postgraduate qualification in research or equivalent experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Advanced communication training or willingness to undertake it

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage a portfolio of academic and commercial clinical trials in line with protocols and relevant legislation
• Screen and recruit patients into studies
• Support and monitor participants throughout the research pathway
• Collect data accurately
• Set up and manage trials in line with regulatory, sponsor and local research requirements
• Liaise with the multidisciplinary team so patient safety and welfare come first
• Deliver trials efficiently to agreed timelines and targets
• Complete trial documentation accurately and on time
• Work with a high level of autonomy
• Raise the profile of clinical research across the Trust, including promotional events and local, regional and national meetings
