Job summary

The London Ambulance Service NHS Trust is recruiting an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner - Urgent Care (APP-UC) to assess, treat and discharge patients, or refer to appropriate care pathways. The role involves autonomous work as a solo responder with rotations across GP practices, Urgent Care Centres and Minor Injury Units in London.

Essential qualifications include a BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science and HCPC registration, with additional desirable qualifications in teaching and extended clinical

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc (Hons) in Paramedic Science or equivalent qualification.
• HCPC registered Paramedic.
• Masters degree or Post Graduate qualification in a relevant field (Desirable).
• Mentoring and coaching; PPEd level 3 or equivalent demonstrable ability.
• Qualification incorporating extended clinical practice skills (e.g. Paramedic/EC Practitioner).
• Recent experience as a solo practitioner with leadership potential.

Responsibilities

• Respond to 999 and 111 calls using advanced clinical skills to assess, treat and/or refer or discharge patients.
• Keep the patient at home or within the community, rotating across GP, Urgent Care Centres and Minor Injury Units.
• Work autonomously as a solo responder with rotational placements across different clinical settings.
• Utilise extended medicines formulary and other interventions such as wound closure when appropriate.
