About Us

Slaughter House Customs is a well-established industry leading business specialising in VW campervan conversions. Our passion for classic Volkswagens drives everything we do, from engine upgrades to bespoke interior parts. We are based in a gated new build workshop and looking for a Motor Vehicle Technician with expertise in diesel engines to join our growing team.

Purpose of the Role

You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing and optimising engine performance to ensure the custom vans, VW classic cars and engine conversions meet high standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostics to identify mechanical and electrical faults
  • Conduct maintenance and repairs, including timing belt replacement, turbocharger repair, and fuel injector servicing
  • Install and upgrade components such as intercoolers and exhaust systems
  • Work closely with the Vehicle Conversion team to ensure engine modifications align with custom build requirements
  • Perform thorough inspections to ensure all work meets safety and performance standards
  • Keep detailed records of repairs and modifications
  • Occasionally communicate with customers to discuss repairs and provide post-service support
About You
  • 3+ years experience in diesel engine diagnostics, repairs, and tuning (ideally 1.9PD Diesel engine experience)
  • Strong mechanical skills and proficiency in using diagnostic tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Familiarity with tuning software and aftermarket upgrades
  • Attention to detail and high quality of output
  • Ability to work within a team and independently
  • UK Valid driver’s licence
