Job summary

The South Hampshire College Group is seeking an Automotive Lecturer to deliver high-quality teaching, learning and assessment across our automotive provision. You will influence curriculum, support learners to achieve qualifications and progress into employment or further study, and may act as Course Leader.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at grade 4/C or equivalent.
• Level 3/4 automotive qualification or higher.
• Significant current or recent automotive industry experience.
• Previous teaching, training or workplace apprentice support experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to engage learners from diverse backgrounds.
• Strong organisational skills and prioritisation.
• Good IT and digital learning skills.
• Commitment to achieving Level 5 Teaching Qualification if not held.
• Assessor TAQA/A1 or equivalent.
• IQA/V1 or equivalent.
• Experience with curriculum design and quality improvement in Further Education.
• Experience acting as Course Leader or programme coordinator.

Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding teaching, learning and assessment in Automotive subjects.
• Prepare and deliver engaging classroom/workshop lessons.
• Assess learner progress and provide timely feedback.
• Support students through tutoring and pastoral care.
• Develop schemes of work, lesson plans and learning resources.
• Monitor attendance, progress and achievement.
• Maintain accurate records per college/awarding body requirements.
• Contribute to curriculum planning and quality improvement.
• Build links with employers and industry partners.
• Support recruitment events and school liaison activities.
• Organise work placements and industry engagement.
• Participate in CPD and industry updating.
