Maintenance Shift Technician

Location: Banbury
Salary: £50,960 per annum (including shift premium)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Thursday (two‑week rotation)

Week 1: 06:00 - 16:00
Week 2: 16:00 - 02:00
Holiday: 25 days (pro rata)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Shift Technician to support assembly operations in Banbury. This role is key to ensuring plant performance, safety, and efficiency, while helping the department achieve its goals and business targets. You will carry out maintenance duties across your shift, ensuring plant parameters and set points are controlled effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Health & Safety and Environmental policies, ensuring compliance with IATF 16949 and relevant certifications.
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance duties across assembly operations.
  • Respond quickly to plant equipment issues to maintain quality and uptime.
  • Participate in problem‑solving activities (8D, A3 techniques) and continuous improvement projects.
  • Support installation of new technology and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records using CMMS systems and manage spares inventory.
  • Promote 5S processes, safe working practices, and PPE compliance.
  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives, energy‑saving measures, and waste minimisation.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and other departments.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Time‑served apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical discipline.
  • IOSH trained.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and CMMS systems.
  • Familiarity with CDM policies and practices.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and liaise across departments.
