Job summary

Grŵp Llandrillo Menai in Wales is seeking a part‑time hourly paid Lecturer in Automotive Engineering (Service Maintenance - Body Repair - Vehicle Painting). You will deliver high quality teaching, assess learners, conduct interviews and initial assessments, and ensure registration with the college and awarding bodies.

You will plan Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans, maintain a safe classroom, provide feedback, and support learners with induction, pastoral guidance, and access to services.

Grwp Llandrillo Menai was established in 2012 as a result of mergers between Coleg Llandrillo, Coleg Menai and Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor. It employs 2,000 staff and delivers courses to around 21,000 students, including over 1,500 higher education students, across Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire and Gwynedd. Job Purpose - Lecturer in Automotive Engineering (Service Maintenance - Body Repair - Vehicle Painting), Part Time, Hourly Paid

To provide high quality teaching, to create effective opportunities for learning and to enable all learners to achieve to the best of their ability. As an Automotive Lecturer, you will assess and advise prospective learners, conducting interviews, initial assessments, and identifying learning needs while ensuring registration with the college and awarding bodies. You will plan and deliver engaging Schemes of Work and Lesson Plans that incorporate essential skills, linguistic needs, and diverse teaching methods to meet learner requirements. Maintaining a safe and effective learning environment, you will utilize varied teaching techniques, set challenging goals, and foster effective communication with learners and colleagues. Supporting learners through induction, academic and pastoral guidance, and access to appropriate services, you will also plan and deliver fair assessments, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records. Reflecting on and improving your practice, you will engage in professional development and stay updated on industry advancements.

Contract type

• temporary, hourly paidWeekly Hours
• 16 hours per week
• An additional percentage of between 10% - 63.33% (subject to criteria) will be applied to the contracted hours worked to reflect preparation and marking
• Weeks per year -35 weeks (to be agreed with the successful applicant)
• Annual Leave -There will be an entitlement to pro rata paid holiday in each academic year (1st September to 31st August), which includes pro-rata entitlement of 8 Bank and Public Holidays normally observed in Wales and a pro-rata entitlement of up to 5 efficiency days (please note this can change annually). Annual leave is derived from a pro rata full time equivalent entitlement of 46 days which is included in the hourly rate paid.
