Job summary

Unipart is recruiting a Costing Engineer in Portsmouth to drive commercial accuracy and profitable growth. You will own end-to-end quotation processes, deliver data-driven insights, and support market expansion through rigorous analysis and process ownership.

We seek a candidate with experience in manufacturing costing, bid management, and creating detailed quotations; a relevant engineering or business degree is preferred, with the ability to manage deadlines under pressure.

Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing costing and detailed quotations.
• Degree level in Engineering, Business, Maths or Economics or proven equivalent.
• Strong bid management experience.
• Able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Business Development Managers and Commercial Director to provide data-driven insights for sector strategies and revenue opportunities.
• Lead the Bid within the business unit across Business Development, Operations, Project Management, Finance, IT, HR and Commercial through the Bid Management process.
• Write and design articulate, concise customer-centric proposals, presentations, and documents as required.
• Manage end-to-end production of bid documents, ensuring on-time delivery and compliance with customer specs.
• Facilitate Value Proposition sessions to develop customer-centric win strategies for submissions.
• Lead the qualification and sign-off process, including document creation for opportunities.
• Track and manage outputs, actions and clarifications throughout the bid process.
• Lead Contract review meetings to drive collaborative sessions with sales and manufacturing teams.
• Ensure high quality, customer-centric look and feel of proposal documents.
• Work with the wider Commercial Team on projects to improve processes.
