What you'll do:
- Video Content Oversee the full video content lifecycle — working with agencies and third parties from concept and briefing through to production, approvals, publishing and post-campaign analysis.
- Lead creative ideation and delivery of multi‑channel content that drives brand awareness, audience growth and aligns fully with our brand strategy and challenger positioning.
- Provide creative direction across YouTube, TikTok, Instagram and emerging formats, reviewing edits, visuals, music, animation and storytelling for maximum impact and engagement.
- Innovate with new formats such as motion graphics, interactive elements and social‑first storytelling to keep content fresh and distinctive.
- Use data and analytics to measure performance (ROI, engagement, reach) and optimise future content, collaborating with internal teams, agencies, influencers and production partners to deliver high‑quality assets.
- Written Content Lead on all content creation & editing: write, edit, refresh and proofread high‑quality content for a variety of mediums, including SEO landing pages, blogs, website copy, social media, press releases, intranet, email and other marketing materials & campaigns.
- Support teams across the business with day‑to‑day copywriting needs and creative briefs for campaigns and product launches.
- Oversee content for the Cazoo blog and websites, including article creation, updates, use of AI tools e.g. Jasper to write and repurpose content, uploads, new template development and SEO‑optimised content hubs.
- Work with SEO, Product and Technology and external agencies to shape blog structure, content pillars and ensure SEO pages are prioritised across website updates.
- Carry out keyword research using tools such as SEMRush to ensure all content is optimised for search engines to drive organic traffic and meet business KPIs.
- Implement best practices in content strategy and measure performance for continuous improvement. Work with PR agencies to review, press releases and upload related web content — positioning you and Cazoo as an expert voice in the automotive space.
- Stay up to date with automotive trends, technology and consumer needs to keep content fresh, relevant and industry‑leading.
- Website updates and content uploads across SEO, blog, competition, press releases and other pages across Cazoo.co.uk and dealer website.
- Ensure all content maintains brand consistency, high editorial quality and compliance with brand guidelines and industry regulations
- Quality Control: Review and ensure all published content is error‑free, accurate, and high‑quality, adhering to brand standards and industry regulations.
- Analyse performance data to identify opportunities for optimisation and continuous improvement across all content and SEO activity, use of new and emerging AI tools to optimise output and results.
Key Skills & Experience: Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in automotive journalism, content creation, editing, or a related field. A fearless self‑starter that enjoys working in a fast paced environment, you're not afraid to pitch bold ideas or try something new Strong understanding of automotive terminology, vehicle features, specs, and current industry trends.
- Excellent writing, editing, and storytelling skills with a portfolio showcasing automotive content. Experience producing social media content (Reels, TikToks, shorts) is a plus. Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Working collaboratively and independently. Familiarity with SEO best practices, CMS platforms, and basic photo/video editing tools.
- Preferred Qualifications Experience working for an automotive marketplace, dealership group, media outlet, or automotive brand. Knowledge of EVs, emerging automotive technologies, and buying/selling workflows.
