Automation Technician – Hands-On Engineering Role

Are you an experienced electrical engineer or automation specialist looking for a varied and challenging role? Join a dynamic team designing, building, and commissioning advanced filling and packaging lines for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries.

We are seeking an Automation Technician to join our Electrical and Automation Department. You will work alongside electricians and panel builders to design, program, and commission control systems both on-site and at our factory. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility, where your skills will directly impact the performance and reliability of sophisticated machinery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design PLC-based electrical control systems from specifications
  • Program PLCs, touchscreens, and safety configurable relay systems
  • Configure remote I/O, servo motors, and inverter drives
  • Integrate ancillary equipment, such as vision systems, into production lines
  • Fault-find electrical control systems, PLCs, and hardwired systems
  • Commission, support, and service machinery at customer sites (some travel required)
What we’re looking for
  • Formal Electrical Engineering qualification (e.g., apprenticeship)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical drawings, control panel design, PLC programming, and touchscreens
  • Understanding of vision and SCADA systems
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or knowledge of explosive atmosphere regulations is desirable
  • Practical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, safety-conscious mindset
