Job summary

Teksystems is seeking a Senior QA Automation Engineer to design and implement robust automation for REST APIs and React-based UI, using Java and Playwright in a financial markets context. You will build and maintain scalable frameworks, expand regression coverage, and integrate tests into modern CI/CD pipelines.

Prior FX/trading exposure is advantageous, with the role based in London. The contract begins with 6 months and is inside IR35, with three onsite days per week in London.

Qualifications

• Strong Java automation experience.
• REST API automation using RestAssured or equivalent.
• UI automation using Playwright with Java.
• TestNG or JUnit and Maven or Gradle.
• CI/CD experience with GitLab or GitHub Actions.
• experience building and maintaining automation frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of JSON, XML, HTTP and request/response validation.
• Comfortable deriving test scenarios from complex requirements.
• experience within FX, trading, financial markets or market infrastructure would be highly beneficial.
• Exposure to JMeter, AI-assisted testing, GitHub Copilot, Swagger/OpenAPI, observability or accessibility testing would also be advantageous.

I'm recruiting for a Senior QA Automation Engineer to join a globally recognised financial markets and infrastructure organisation, working across business-critical FX trading applications.

This is a hands-on automation role covering REST APIs and React-based user interfaces. You'll design and maintain robust frameworks, increase regression coverage and integrate automated testing into modern CI/CD pipelines. The work includes complex FX trading workflows, matching systems and new API/UI components.
