Job summary
Potter & Moore Innovations is seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to lead electrical, automation, and machinery projects across our beauty and personal care manufacturing and packaging operations. The role is based in Peterborough, with regular travel to Tiverton, requiring strong skills in HACCP/GMP compliance and machinery integration.
You will drive design, installation and modification of control systems, participate in commissioning, and support continuous improvement across production
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Electrical or Project Engineer in a manufacturing environment, ideally FMCG or beauty & personal care.
- Hands-on experience with high-speed machinery and packaging equipment.
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs, HMIs and automation systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical and automation projects for production and packaging machinery, including installation, commissioning, upgrades and modifications.
- Manage high-speed filling, capping, labeling and cartoning line projects, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers, production and quality teams to design and implement improvements.
- Support troubleshooting and fault-finding during project rollouts to ensure reliability and efficiency.
- Design, install and modify electrical control panels, wiring and schematics.
- Program, modify and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs and other automation systems (e.g. Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi).
