Job summary

ATA Recruitment is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for a large automated distribution site in Stoke-on-Trent. The role covers reactive maintenance across conveyors, cranes and automated handling systems, with a focus on electrical and mechanical safety and rapid fault finding.

Offering progression into controls or team leadership, and significant overtime with a stable, long-term career at a highly automated site.

Qualifications

• A recognised engineering qualification equivalent to Level 3 or above (NVQ, City & Guilds, BTEC, ONC, HNC).
• Experience in manufacturing, automation, logistics or production environments.
• Ability to work safely both mechanically and electrically.
• Proactive attitude with strong problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Reactive maintenance across automated distribution equipment.
• Fault finding on conveyors, cranes, drives, rollers and automated handling systems.
• Working safely within panels using multi-meters and electrical drawings.
• Supporting PPMs and engineering projects when required.
• Responding to plant breakdowns quickly within a fast-paced operation.
