Job summary

Innovate Recruitment Ltd is recruiting for a pool of multi-skilled automation contractors to support distribution centres, fulfilment operations and manufacturing sites across the West Midlands. You will handle fault-finding, maintenance and installation tasks on automated systems as opportunities arise.

Assignments range from single-shift call-outs to multi-week projects, with travel to client sites required and some assignments including nights or weekends. IR35 is assessed per assignment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, or controls.
• Proven maintenance or field service on warehouse automation.
• Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing electrical, mechanical and controls faults on automated material handling equipment
• Maintaining conveyors, sorters, lifts and palletisers
• Supporting AS/RS, shuttle systems, AGVs/AMRs and robotic picking cells
• Working with PLCs, HMIs, drives, sensors, scanners and safety systems
• Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance to client and OEM schedules
• Supporting installations, modifications, commissioning and site acceptance testing
• Helping operations teams minimize downtime during peak periods
• Following site permit-to-work, LOTO and safety procedures at all times
