Job summary
A leading technology and engineering company in the Guildford area is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to enhance production efficiency and compliance. This full-time role involves maintaining and evolving automation technologies, collaborating with international teams, and driving strategic projects. Candidates should have a relevant engineering degree and at least two years of experience in automation or control systems. Familiarity with biopharmaceutical regulations is a plus.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of relevant experience in automation or control systems.
- Familiarity with biopharmaceutical regulations and GMP is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Support capital projects that enhance automation capability.
- Troubleshoot and manage building automation systems.
- Collaborate with global teams to deliver automation solutions.
- Act as the automation lead on projects and improvement initiatives.
- Minimise production downtime by supporting automation needs.
- Explore new technologies and provide training to others.
Skills
Low voltage controls (relays, safety circuits, drives)
Device interfaces (sensors, IO modules, fieldbus, networking)
PLC programming (ladder, function block, structured text)
HMI/SCADA systems
Understanding of building automation systems
Strong communication and project management abilities
Basic awareness of OT cybersecurity
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Control Systems
