A leading IT consultancy in the UK seeks an Automation Engineer to enhance operational efficiency through automation of tasks in OpenShift environments. Ideal candidates will have strong experience in automation, OpenShift, and scripting. This position offers a competitive rate of £463 a day, initially for 12 months with a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in automation engineering for infrastructure and container platforms.

• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).

Responsibilities

• Develop Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar.
• Integrate automation solutions with CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and maintenance.
• Monitor automation jobs and troubleshoot failures to ensure reliability and performance.
• Maintain documentation for automation processes and provide training to relevant teams.
• Ensure compliance with the bank's security, governance, and regulatory standards in all automation activities.

Role Overview

The Automation Engineer will be responsible for automating repeatable tasks such as cluster provisioning, scaling, and patching within the bank's OpenShift environments. This role ensures operational efficiency, consistency, and compliance through robust automation frameworks and tools.
