The overall role of this position will be for maintaining and improving the automation and robotic systems for RBC - Aircraft Products’ bearing manufacturing processes, identifying opportunities to reduce costs with improved equipment and systems, supporting the troubleshoot and repair production equipment to improved utilization, improvement of existing equipment control systems, and developing additional functionality to production equipment.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Project management and leadership of major manufacturing automation projects from concept to completion including coordinating activities between cross functional teams.
  • Develop new systems and processes utilizing PLC and HMI programming to
  • Providing technical support to production including troubleshooting equipment failures, resolving quality issues, and reviewing equipment capabilities.
  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and examine process data to develop new strategies to improve product quality and lower cost.
  • Write/edit assembly, maintenance, calibration and test procedures and instructions.
  • Develop and maintain a configuration control of software system to support manufacturing.
  • Provide technical support to cross functional teams such as Quality, Supply Chain, Production Staff, Manufacturing Engineering, Planning, Sales & Marketing.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

Seven (7) years of experience with progressive advancement in a manufacturing environment. Experience with management and leadership of automation and robotics projects.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of ladder logic and PLC programing (Allen Bradly, Fanuc, Mitsubishi)
  • Ability to project management and lead major manufacturing automation projects.
  • Technical knowledge of bearing manufacturing equipment and advanced knowledge of automation.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio, etc.)
  • Knowledge of mechanical & electrical design practices.
  • Knowledge of process improvements in Manufacturing and advanced knowledge of data analysis.
