Automation Engineer – Data Centre / Network Automation

Are you an Automation Engineer with strong networking knowledge who loves building scalable, reliable automation in a data centre environment? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a specialist engineering team supporting a leading global hedge fund, working on cutting‑edge network automation and data centre infrastructure.

The Opportunity

You’ll join a small, high‑impact Data Centre team focused on automating key infrastructure operations and improving the efficiency of the network environment. Acting as the bridge between the cabling engineers and network automation team, you’ll have end‑to‑end visibility across the environment and help design smarter ways to manage and scale their data centre.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Automating patching schedules, IP allocations, and configuration jobs
  • Working with NetBox to manage rack diagrams and automate workflows
  • Supporting automation for Arista‑based infrastructure
  • Collaborating with DC and Network teams to streamline deployments
  • Designing scripts and tools to remove manual tasks and improve reliability
Tech Stack / Experience Needed

Must have: Python, Ansible

Nice to have: Arista, NetBox, DC Layer 1 experience, Temporal, Go (bonus)

Networking background highly desirable

No finance experience required

No certifications needed – proven hands‑on experience matters most

Salary: £75,000 – £80,000 (max)
