Automation Engineer – Industrial Controls / PLC

Samuel Frank is recruiting for an Automation Engineer who has PLC fault‑finding experience, to join a rapidly growing West Yorkshire based business.

Salary: £42‑50k basic + uplift + overtime. OTE £55‑70k with 25 days holiday, training, and a company vehicle for site work.

Responsibilities
  • PLC fault‑finding and interrogation (Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi, or Siemens PLCs). No need to program PLCs from scratch, but strong PLC code interrogation is required.
  • Office‑based work with occasional onsite support for machine breakdowns on automated production line equipment.
  • Interrogate and fault‑find a wide range of electrical equipment.
  • Work onsite 2–3 days per week, with day trips to customers in Yorkshire or Lancashire.
  • Out‑of‑hours remote support on a 1‑in‑4‑week roster, with uplift and overtime payable.
  • Maintenance and breakdown work on a variety of equipment, from cutting‑edge to legacy.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and reporting of electrical systems.

Qualifications

  • HNC/D in Electronic and Electrical Engineering (or a related subject).
  • Full UK driving licence – essential.
