Automation Design Engineer

Monday to Friday (8am - 4:30pm)

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000

We are looking for an engineer to design, program, troubleshoot and improve automation systems. You’ll collaborate with smart, driven teams to ensure our operations run smoother, faster and smarter. You’ll report to the Engineering Manager.

What You’ll Do

• Build and maintain automation control systems: PLC programming, control panels and related components.
• Keep industrial processes under control with real‑time monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize and improve production.
• Diagnose problems, troubleshoot systems, and keep operations moving.
• Train operators and maintenance teams to be as effective as possible.
• Ensure everything is safe, compliant and of top quality.

What We’re Looking For

• HNC or degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Automation).
• Strong PLC programming and HMI experience.
• Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
• Problem solver, thinker, doer – a team player and excellent communicator.
• Hungry to learn, improve, and make an impact.
