Job summary

Actemium Automation Teesside is seeking an experienced Software Control Systems Engineer to support design, development, commissioning and maintenance of industrial automation and control systems across manufacturing sectors.

You'll work with project managers and customers to deliver reliable automation solutions from concept to handover, leveraging emerging AI technologies to boost engineering efficiency.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in industrial automation, control systems or software engineering.
• Strong PLC programming and commissioning experience within industrial environments.
• Knowledge of HMI, SCADA, industrial networks and system integration.
• Experience with Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus and Modbus TCP/IP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and commission PLC, DCS, HMI and SCADA systems.
• Design and implement industrial control software and automation solutions.
• Produce software specifications, test plans and technical documentation.
• Configure and integrate PLCs, drives, instrumentation, safety and communication systems.
• Conduct FAT, SAT, testing and system validation activities.
• Support installation, commissioning, fault finding and optimisation on customer sites.
• Collaborate with project teams, customers and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering standards and health & safety requirements.
• Contribute to project planning, estimating and continuous improvement initiatives.
