  • Assist with shift handover communications and meetings.

Overview

Position: Automation Assistant
Location: Leicester, Leicestershire
Salary: £29,000 + £4,000 shift allowance

TXM Recruit is partnering with a prominent automation and intralogistics company to hire an automation assistant for one of their flagship sites in Leicester. The role will involve supporting onsite maintenance engineers with basic troubleshooting on automated distribution equipment, learning both mechanical and electrical competencies.

Responsibilities
  • Support onsite maintenance engineers with basic troubleshooting of equipment both mechanically and electrically.
  • Carry out start of shift checks ensuring equipment is fit for use.
  • Rectify time-out faults using the manual controllers (Pendant or HMI panel).
  • Learn how to maintain systems and complete basic jam busting on distribution equipment such as conveyors and automated storage and retrieval systems.
  • Follow safety procedures when working on and around the Automated Mechanical Handling Equipment, such as isolation of adjoining equipment, and following the "safe entry procedure" and use of correct PPE.
  • Use access equipment in and around the system to rectify product flow issues.
  • Investigate the reasons and re-start the system after an emergency stop (non-technical errors).
  • Contribute to completion of dynamic risk assessments and ensure onsite communication protocol is followed to ensure smooth operation of the facility.
  • Assist with shift handover communications, toolbox talks, and meetings with Engineering colleagues to relay concerns and/or problems within the Automated Materials Handling equipment.
