Job summary

Lidl GB is seeking a Sortation Maintenance Operative to keep our Automated Sortation system in the distribution centre running smoothly. You’ll support your team with a can-do attitude, work the late shifts, nights and weekends, and help keep equipment, fixtures and fittings in top condition.

The role offers a busy, dynamic environment with plenty of variety and on‑the‑job training from the ground up. It includes a 40‑hour contract, shift pattern 14:00–23:00, 30–35 days’ holiday pro rata, an

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or technical roles in a distribution centre or warehouse.
• Experience with automated systems (conveyors, sorters, material handling).
• SAP EWM knowledge is desirable but not mandatory.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and take initiative.
• Relevant maintenance related qualifications and experience.
• Confidence working with mechanical equipment (PPTs, LLOPs and FLTs).
• Ability to work with hand tools and specialist lifting equipment.
• Motivation, positivity and initiative.
• A flair for multi-tasking to prioritise conflicting deadlines.
• An eye for detail in a busy working environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily operation of an Automated Sortation system in the distribution centre.
• Ensure equipment operates at optimal levels and identify improvements.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules with the Assistant Team Manager.
• Communicate with other departments to ensure integrated automation systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair minor electromechanical issues and computer-based adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and changes.
• Run daily, weekly, and monthly reports with the team to achieve targets.
