Job summary

Halfords is recruiting an Autocare Technician/Mechanics apprentice to train across diagnostic, servicing and repair tasks. You will learn on a mix of virtual and on-site training, with a dedicated mentor and the chance to progress into a permanent role.

Starting at £16,640 per year, this two-year apprenticeship runs from early 2027 with block release training at INSPIRO LEARNING LIMITED. Applicants should have GCSE English and Maths and a keen interest in vehicle engineering and customer service.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths are essential.
• A Level 1 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Use diagnostic equipment to identify vehicle faults.
• Test parts and systems to ensure correct operation.
• Follow checklists to examine vehicle parts.
• Carry out bumper-to-bumper service, inspection and maintenance.
• Maintain electronic systems and onboard entertainment systems.
• Complete legible paperwork for customers and records.
• Keep a clean and tidy work environment.
