Job summary

A leading vehicle solutions provider is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician in Dursley, United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will diagnose and repair vehicle electrical systems in specialist refuse collection vehicles. Strong diagnostic skills and experience in commercial vehicles are essential. Competitive salary between £35,000 and £43,000 with 33 days holiday including bank holidays. This role operates Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, ideally in commercial or heavy vehicle sectors.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including CANbus and multiplex wiring.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose electrical faults and repair wiring systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Repair and replace faulty wiring, lighting, sensors, and control systems in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Install and configure new electrical systems, including lighting, CANbus components, CCTV, weighing systems, and telematics.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Auto Electrician to join our team in Dursley. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and installing vehicle electrical systems across a range of specialist refuse collection vehicles. This role would suit someone with strong diagnostic skills and a background in heavy vehicle or commercial automotive electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose electrical faults and repair wiring systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Repair and replace faulty wiring, lighting, sensors, and control systems in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Install and configure new electrical systems, including lighting, CANbus components, CCTV, weighing systems, and telematics.
  • Install and test electrical components and wiring harnesses in vehicles.
  • Maintain accurate records of all electrical repairs and installations.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as an Auto Electrician, ideally in commercial or heavy vehicle sectors.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical systems, including CANbus and multiplex wiring.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
  • Competent with diagnostic software and tools.
