Perfect Placement UK Ltd in Liverpool is seeking a skilled Auto Electrician / Diagnostic Technician to join an established independent garage. You will diagnose electrical faults, work on wiring, sensors, control modules, and use advanced diagnostic equipment on various makes/models.

This role offers Monday to Friday hours, a supportive team, ongoing training, and access to the latest diagnostic tools as part of a forward-thinking shop focused on vehicle electrics and diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in vehicle electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.
• Strong knowledge of wiring, circuits and control modules.
• Familiar with using diagnostic tools and technical information.
• Level 3 automotive qualification or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical faults across various makes/models.
• Investigate wiring, circuits, sensors, and control modules.
• Use diagnostic equipment and diagrams for systematic testing.
• Carry out electrical repairs and verify fixes.
• Assist aftermarket installs (dash cameras, sensors, towbars, etc.).
• Record findings and recommendations in workshop systems.
• Collaborate with team to ensure smooth workflow.

We are seeking a highly skilled Auto Electrician / Diagnostic Technician to join a reputable and established independent garage in Liverpool.

Duties of the Auto Electrician / Diagnostic Technician will include:

• Diagnosing electrical and electronic faults across various makes and models
• Investigating wiring, circuits, sensors, control modules, and vehicle communication networks
• Using diagnostic equipment, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation for systematic testing
• Conducting electrical repairs, component replacements, and verifying repairs
• Supporting aftermarket installations such as dash cameras, parking sensors, reverse cameras, trackers, and towbars
• Recording accurate diagnostic findings and recommendations within workshop systems
• Collaborating with the workshop manager and team to ensure a smooth workflow
• Contributing ideas to improve workshop processes and efficiency

Requirements for the Auto Electrician / Diagnostic Technician include:

• Proven experience in vehicle electrical fault-finding and diagnostics
• Strong knowledge of wiring, circuits, sensors, and control modules
• Confidence in using diagnostic tools and technical information
• Relevant automotive qualifications, ideally Level 3 or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to work independently and recognise when additional support is needed
• Excellent communication skills and high attention to detail
• Full UK driving licence
• Enthusiasm for developing specialist skills and adopting new technologies
