A care provider in Salisbury is seeking a male Bank Support Worker for a non-verbal 31-year-old man with autism. No experience necessary as training is provided, though reliability and flexibility are essential. The role involves following a care plan and providing support in a therapeutic environment, with competitive pay including holiday benefits. You will be asked to send a short video introduction on WhatsApp which the service user will view to alleviate any anxiety he has around potentially meeting new people.
A non‑verbal man with autism, emotional and complex needs in Salisbury, Wiltshire requires a dedicated support worker. You do not need experience – we will provide full and robust training and shadowing periods.
Some weekends or/and shifts may be required to cover sickness or gaps within the rota. Please note that no shifts are guaranteed. We are also looking for bank/relief support workers on an as‑needed basis.
We are looking for a male support worker to join our successful team to support a 31‑year‑old non‑verbal man with autism and complex needs to live in his own home. A robust care plan will be given to follow, which forms part of the main structure of the service.
You will have access to a company car (automatic) while you are supporting the service user – a driving licence is not essential for this position.
If you are not sure about the position, come along and spend some time with the service user and service team manager to decide if this is the right placement for you.
This is a unique role in a unique service built around the needs of the service user, and it is fully person‑centred to his needs. The service user doesn’t require medication or personal care.
Training will take place at any point during any day of the week and/or up to one weekend a month. Please ensure you are available to partake fully in the training.
Holiday pay is paid on top of the hourly rate at 12.07%, which equates to 5.6 weeks annual leave.
£15.50 per day hour plus the holiday pay to make it a total of £17.37 per hour.
£34 per sleep‑in (we pay an increased amount of £89.10 per sleep to compensate you if you are awake).
You will be paid towards the end of the month (within the last 4 days) in arrears pro rata through PAYE administered by the Wiltshire Council payroll team. All tax, national insurance, pension etc. are calculated by them and you will be sent a monthly payslip with all payments and deductions.
