Job summary

The National Autistic Society is recruiting a dedicated support worker for our Community Services Somerset. We offer a meaningful role supporting autistic adults in six individualised houses, with emphasis on promoting independence and quality of life.

You will work 37.5 hours per week, with flexible evenings and weekends as needed. Training is provided, including autism-specific modules, and DBS checks are required for safeguarding. Join a supportive team making a real difference.

Qualifications

• Experience with autistic people is helpful but not essential.
• Personal experience or a passion for helping others is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care (bathing, dressing, eating).
• Encourage activities they enjoy (swimming, hiking, arts & crafts).
• Support life skills (budgeting, shopping, meal preparation).
