Overview

Are you looking for your new adventure, supporting vulnerable children? Are you interested in a specialist approach to education? Are you a kind and caring individual?

A fantastic specialist school in Abingdon are looking for an Autism Support Worker to join their friendly team, starting as soon as next week. This is an exciting opportunity to support children and teenagers with a primary diagnosis of Autism. A lot of the pupils have other associated additional needs, including ADHD, communication challenges and behaviour needs. You will play a key role in their journey to adulthood, and support them with their education, as well as their social and emotional development.

Responsibilities
  • Support with behaviour management and emotional regulation.
  • Promote positive behaviour expression.
  • Support with social skills and independent living skills, such as cooking, money management and personal care.
  • Implement strategies advised by educational psychologist and behaviour specialists.
  • Take part in training and ongoing professional development such as safeguarding, autism awareness, Makaton and Team Teach.

  • Previous experience working with children would be beneficial, but not essential.

Pay: £85 - £95 per day
