Job summary

A dedicated educational support service in Peterborough is seeking an Autism Support Worker to help students with Autism Spectrum Condition thrive academically and socially. The role involves providing 1:1 support, collaborating with teachers and specialists, and fostering an inclusive classroom environment. Ideal candidates are compassionate, communicative, and passionate about supporting young people with autism. This is a full-time, long-term position.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with autism or special educational needs (SEN).
  • A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and adapt to individual needs.
  • Genuine passion for improving the lives of young people with autism.

Responsibilities

  • Help pupils engage with learning, social interaction, and daily routines.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to implement individual learning plans (EHCPs).
  • Promote emotional wellbeing, communication, and self-regulation strategies.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)? We are looking for a dedicated Autism Support Worker to join a welcoming and supportive team, helping students with autism to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting neurodiverse young people. Every day, you\'ll be helping students develop confidence, communication skills, and independence and witnessing their growth firsthand.
