Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a KS3 Subject Specialist Teacher (SEN) in a small-class autism provision. The role focuses on Mathematics and ASC needs, with adaptation of the KS3 curriculum to individual pupils.

You will work closely with therapists and staff to support communication, regulation, independence and wellbeing. The ideal candidate will have QTS, substantial KS3 experience, and a proven track record supporting pupils with ASC in a specialist or SEND setting.

Qualifications

• QTS with KS3 teaching experience.
• Significant ASC experience essential.
• Experience in SEN/specialist settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality, adapted lessons.
• Adapt the KS3 curriculum for ASC and needs.
• Use visual supports and structured teaching methods.
• Maintain clear routines and predictable lessons.
• Apply sensory and regulation strategies in class.
• Adopt communication-supportive approaches with pupils.
• Create a calm, structured, supportive learning environment.
• Deliver provision aligned to EHCP outcomes and reviews.
• Prepare progress reports and target setting.
• Collaborate with therapists and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate records of progress and provision.
• Uphold Teachers' Standards and safeguarding procedures.
• Engage with parents/carers and contribute to school life.
• Participate in meetings, training and school events.
