Job summary

Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our Mental Health & Autism Specialist team, based at St Georges Hospital. The role supports individuals with MH conditions, including autism, and may involve internal MPFTOccupational Therapy Apprentices in their final year of studies.

The post requires travel across the large geographic area and a drive to deliver recovery-based OT interventions.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist with Dip COT or degree in Occupational Therapy and registered with BAOT/HCP
• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist
• Member of Chartered Occupational Therapists (COT) association

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the management of a complex caseload, including specialist assessment and care planning with service user and carer.
• Participate in setting quality standards, auditing, monitoring and reviewing practice.
• Assess patients’ individual care needs; develop, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
• Deliver non-pharmacological interventions following OT assessments to maximise independence.
• Provide support and supervision to an Occupational Therapy Assistant.
